Garden Blogger's Bloom Day

Purple Verbena

Thrift

And yet more Purple Verbena of another shade!

I've not participated in Bloom Day from May Dreams Garden before so I thought I would give it a shot this month. On the 15th of each month everyone posts what's bloomin' in their yard. Very fun, but I seem to forget the day! There is just something about April 15th that stands out from the crowd and so this month I finally hit the date.

I have other plants blooming that include pansies, petunias, purple pincushion flower, dwarf coreopsis, and vinca. I need to take more pictures and post them also.

Maybe on the next Bloom Day, I will be a bit more on top of things and have the official scientific names added! But for now..well I finally made it.

  3. Dang! You have Lantana! I tried to start some from seed- they haven't germinated! The packet said from 40-60 days for germination- nothing! I'm so disappointed :(. Well, I can come look at yours- My sister is in Plano, TX. I sure like visiting- love it there! Happy GBBD to you.

  5. @Darla

These were given to me by a friend. Lantana and verbena look very similar although I think the flower size is a bit smaller for lantana. After looking online through the plant files plus the bloom time for lantana is summer, I think it may be verbena, so I'm going back to change it. Thanks
