A Gardening Treat For The Eyes

I love to be inspired! I peruse through blogs, websites, magazines etc. to get new ideas that would work in my own yard. The creativity of people never ceases to amaze me. And guess what? I found a new way to explore the web that absolutely blows me away!

Cooliris is an application that allows you to view photos full-screen 3D by transforming your browser into a visually stunning, lightning fast way to search and enjoy online photos, videos and more. Its amazing!

You do need to be using Firefox as your web browser before adding this application, but I will tell you I prefer it over Internet Explorer any day. I've used it for years and I'm happy to endorse it. I have also found that using Windows XP and Vista, Cooliris works well with either.

Give it try and search for terms like Garden Design and I think you'll be hooked. Enjoy! (But don't blame me if you are having trouble turning it off and NO I'm not affiliated with this company in any way.)

**with further research I have found out that you CAN use cooliris with IE6 and IE7. I haven't tried it, but there is a version for it.

Planting, Planting, Planting...

One of the things about garden blogging that amazes me is this:
"When you have things to blog about going on in the garden, you are too busy and tired to post!" (At least I am)

I've been going down the checklist of fruits and veggies I have planned for the year. Here's what I have so far:

A&M Onions -180
Broccoli - 27
Cabbage Red - 9
Cabbage Green - 18
Pea plants - 320
Collard Greens -18
Cauliflower - 18
Asparagus - 10
Strawberries - 34
Horseradish - 2
Red Seedless Grapes - 2
Gala Apple Tree - 1

And.. I have started tomatoes indoors:

Tommy Toes - 20
Cherokee Purple - 20
Brandywine - 20
Amish Paste - 20
Italian Heirloom - 20

I'll head out tomorrow to plant beets and a few wonderful bushes I got on clearance at Lowe's

2 Gardenias
1 Dwarf Youpon Holly
1 Pencil Holly

I'm on a roll! I hope I can get more veggies out in the next few weeks. I'm still working on the garden area and need to finish more of the trenches/walkways. (That's gonna hurt!)

Where Would You Recommend?

Calling All Garden Bloggers!

Since I am always totally blown away by your expertise in broadcasting garden information to the masses, I am calling on you for some much needed help.

Our local Master Gardening group (Hunt County Texas) is having their annual garden tour, where we feature 4+ gardens and provide educational opportunities to the public during that time. Our goal this year is to work on publicizing it better. The problem is this..we have a near zero budget. I'm betting there are places we can advertise that we're overlooking.

Is there a website, magazine, forum etc. that you would recommend for us to use? Help is truly appreciated.

Thanks a million!
